The impressive view from the edge of the crater is a must for Lanzarote lovers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We start this hike right at the foot of Caldera Blanca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a short climb of around 30 minutes, we are already standing on the crater rim and most people who look into the Caldera Blanca for the first time can hardly keep their mouths shut in amazement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, we still have a good 200 meters of ascent (and about 1000 m of path) ahead of us before we can take a longer break at the summit. We take our time and enjoy the ever-changing views of the surrounding lava sea until we finally reach the highest point of the crater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We usually meet Agathe and Arthur there, two ravens, who speculate on a snack that we always bring with us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a long rest, we continue to descend slowly in an anti-clockwise direction on a very easy path around the crater until we have walked about 3\/4 of the way around it. Here we take another short break before descending via a goat path to the foot of this imposing volcano. We easily reach the dammed lava between La Caldereta and Caldera Blanca, which catapults us straight back to the time of the volcanic eruptions in the 18th century. We finally return to the starting point along this lava flow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, as on all other tours, there is plenty of valuable information about the flora and fauna as well as the geology (volcanoes) of Lanzarote. Lanzarote feeling at its best!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
